Tour de Palm Springs Cycling Event is February 9, 2019

NEWS RELEASE, City of Palm Springs -Tour de Palm Springs Slated for Feb. 8 – 9; Expect Road Closures and Plan Ahead to Avoid Delays

Thousands of cyclists will zoom into Palm Springs this weekend for the 2019 Tour de Palm Springs Charity Bike Ride, which mean several road closures Friday and Saturday, Feb. 8 – 9. 

On Saturday, Feb. 9, the bike riders will begin on Palm Canyon Drive and Alejo Road, heading east on Alejo and turning north on Indian Canyon Drive. Bike riders in the 3-mile route will turn west on Alejo. To accommodate the vendor expo and bike rides the following road closures include:

• Palm Canyon Drive between Tahquitz and Alejo roads will be closed to through traffic from 6 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8 until 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9.

• Tahquitz Canyon Way will be closed between Indian Canyon Drive and Belardo Road from 6 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8, until 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9.

• Alejo Road will be closed between Indian Canyon and Belardo Road from 5 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9 until noon on the same day.

• Additionally, northbound Indian Canyon Drive from Alejo Road to Vista Chino will be reduced to one lane from approximately 6 a.m. through 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9. For more information, visit www.tourdepalmsprings.com.

The Tour de Palm Springs celebrates it’s 20th year

On February 9 and 10, 2018, thousands of bike riders will take to the streets of Palm Springs for the 20th annual Tour de Palm Springs. Riders choose their level of difficulty with events ranging from a 10 mile casual ride to experienced bikers taking on the entire 100 mile course.
